How Do Iraq’s Christians Feel about the Troop Pull-Out?

This good piece of reporting by the National Catholic Register gives a glimpse into the thoughts and fears of Iraq’s beleaguered Christian minority now that President Obama has announced the imminent pull-out of U.S. troops.

IT would be great if Iraq's Christians would stop blaming the Jews for their problems. They should stop acting like dhimiis. I guess anti-Semitism is endemic in the liturgy or something. I wonder how many Middle East Christians realize they would have better lives in Israel.

We can't protect the Christian minorities of Muslim countries with huge troop deployments. We can do a lot to protect them by, you know, not invading their countries or supporting revolutions driven by the Muslim Brotherhood.

LOL - I guess that Christian minority should have chosen more wisely when it decided to be one of Saddam Hussein's "core constituencies." Payback is never pretty, especially in that part of the world. While their interest in continued armed protection courtesy of Uncle Sam is perfectly rational, their prior allegiance isn't our problem - regardless of whichever sky fairy they worship.

Did they really decide to become one of Sadaam Hussein's core constituencies?

As opposed to say the millions of Shia and Sunni who seemed to get on quite well in Saddam Hussein's world.

Yep, nothing funnier that people being killed, persecuted and terrorized. 45 murdered in a church? Hardy Har Har.

You got it. More Coors. You pour enough into you and you can flush that compassion right out of your system. Who needs it anyway? Government will take care of everyone.

It seems that they shouldn't expect assistance from State or the White House:
