Unions Outraise Kasich Allies on Referendum

The Columbus Dispatch reports:

We Are Ohio has raised $30.6 million in its quest to overturn Senate Bill 5, a 4-to-1 cash advantage over its Republican opponents who are refusing to disclose how much they got from individual contributors.

Public-employee unions, led by teachers unions that gave about $9.7 million, have put big money into the effort urging Ohioans to vote “no” on Issue 2 and strike down a new anti-collective-bargaining law that they think will be highly destructive to their members. Their opposition, Building a Better Ohio, which says Issue 2 is necessary to get government spending under control, has raised $7.6 million, according to new reports filed yesterday.
