Various news outlets report that at least two additional ”clean-energy” companies given grants and/or loan guarantees by your administration are in financial straits. Reuters reports that Beacon Power Corp. filed for bankruptcy this week, only one year after receiving a $43 million loan guarantee from the Department of Energy. The New York Times reports that an auditor for Nevada Geothermal Power, which received at least $66 million in grants and a $79 million DOE loan guarantee, has concluded that there is “significant doubt about the company’s ability to continue as a going concern.”
Several weeks ago, Solyndra, recipient of a $535 million loan guarantee, filed for bankruptcy. The Daily Caller reports that “executives, board members and investors involved with all three companies are closely linked to [you], [Senate Majority Leader] Reid and other prominent Democrats.”
