New info from the last few days:
â— Eric Holder will testify before a congressional committee in person next week.
â— It looks like Assistant Attorney General for the Criminal Division Lanny Breuer has been assigned to take the bullet for Holder. He’s admitted that he knew about “gunwalking” during a similar Bush-administration program, Wide Receiver, and says he regrets not doing more to stop it. He says he did not alert Holder.
â— Breuer has also commented on the wiretap data from Fast and Furious, arguing that it was not the job of the Justice officials who reviewed the data to evaluate the tactics agents were using.
