I always wonder how ignorant people are when they compare work to slavery. Talk about trivialization. It may be a bad job but he's getting paid and if he finds something else he can just walk away.
HA! How could I forget about that scene! Nice one.
I do feel for the doorman, there's no reason he needs to put up with that type of behavior. Grow up; Get out of his face and stop gesturing at him. Paraphrasing Walter Sobchak, this isn't 'Nam, we have rules in our civilization.
Yes, it's part of the job, but, really, who reads the fine print expecting it to say something about 'smelly hippies.'
Jonah, please, language warning! I was sitting next to my 3 year old daughter when I clicked that link and the first thing that comes out is a loud f-word. Not cool.
I'd say David Welker, Slide, et al's patience and capacity to dissemble are inexhaustible.
As long as they're getting paid, and OWS doesn't turn conservative, that is.
Huh? Huh? Huh?
This is one of the things I've seen that made me say, reflexively, "those people are evil."
Not because of the language; but rather because of the intent. It was obvious that they wanted to provoke the guard and, as he failed to rise to the bait, they began looking for words & gestures that were designed - specifically - to hurt the guy. The body language, the verbal abuse - all were just ways in which they sought to inflict as much pain as they could. I think they realized that the guard wasn't going to lose his cool, so they changed tactics to inflict as much personal pain as they could.
You can see them changing tactics as they figure out - through trial and error - which attacks are more sucessful.
The reason I call them evil is because I think the desire to deliberately cause others' pain is the heart of all evil action. It gets worse if physical torture is part of it, but lets definitely remember that all truly heinous behavior has at its core the desire to cause pain.
The heart of all evil comes one step before that: it is when we choose to dehumanize someone - suggesting that basic human rights do not apply to *that* sort of person.
(Something that people of all political stripes might keep in mind - especially as the left gleefully sheds its humanity, and embraces the animal. I fear this "occupy" stuff might end very badly when limits are finally reached.....)
Hah, hilarious that a bunch of Occupiers who are complaining about not having jobs - which beggars who are dependent on the government - are making fun of a fully employed fellow who sells his labor on the market, and calling him a slave.
Turing Words: "Get a better game." From the Department of Ironic Ironies, I'm guessing...
A slave?
Looks to me like a guy with a job.
Idiots.
(That guy is much more patient than I would have been!)

Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseA wage slave. Which, to a Marxist, is even worse.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseDig the chick trying to start a "sell out" chant. Gotta love those protestor air balls.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseShe shouted it twice then gave up.
Gotta admire the diligence of our young people!
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseThis #OCCUPYFAIL reminds me of the following clip from the gloriously offensive Knocked Up, with plenty of objectionable and NSFW language:

Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseLove how after each taunt, she looks to make sure that camera captured it!
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbusePretty certain she was the one who had her 2 infants in the human barricade on another vid.

Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI sympathize but did you expect a Derek Jacobi soliloquy with these idiots?
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI just watched "I Claudius". I had forgotten how good derek Jacobi was in the role of I Cladius!
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseThe Left owns the blacks in this country. Everybody knows this. Will this individual reconsider his vote for Obama? No, not in the slightest.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseSo, at what point will there be enough examples of OWS behaving badly that apologists will stop claiming it's just "a few bad apples?"
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseAt what point does this 'revolution' get violent? A little 'reality' would be good at this point...
They push, just once, too hard and the push back will crush them flat.
There is no amount of media spin that can save this 'movement' from itself.
