There are very few moments in presidential debates that make a confirmed political cynic like me want to get off the couch and cheer like a hockey fan at the sight of blood. But Newt’s smackdown of Scott Pelley was, as Marc and Michael have both noted, well worth the price of admission. For those who haven’t seen it, note the smug look of condescension on Pelley’s face right before Newt takes him to school. He even muttered a “no” after Newt began his answer. Whether or not Gingrich has a chance of getting the nomination — and I still think it’s a long shot — he has been a true delight to watch in these debates.
I second that motion. (And this one is like a little kid having read a pamphlet someone gave him, running through the halls and screaming in every room.)
Are the commentators here so new to the internet that they don't realize that responding to the "Slides" of the world only encourages them to return?
It's not like they're contributing anything thoughtful, not like they're interested in real discussion, and certainly not like they'll open their minds to an alternative point of view. Their presence here is simply to disrupt and pout.
Yes, yes, yes! Slide is an enterprising and energetic troll, but Slide's goal is the same as that of every other troll in the history of the Internet: "Hey! Look at me!" And every time you respond, you are cooperating with that ridiculous goal.
Please don't bother responding seriously to people who are not serious, is what I'm saying.
(Captchas that force one to play a video and then type ridiculous misspelled words are almost as bad as trolls.)
Hit the little refresh button (left button) under the "SOLVE media" logo at bottom right. Hit it until you get one that isn't a video (or until you can't take it anymore).
Slide,
The fight against Obama and the MSM are the same fight. The media is an extension of the Obama reelection campaign. and therefore the battle must be waged on all fronts.
So, when Chris Matthews declares that it is his job as a journalist to help Obama succeed, what aspect of the right-wing corporate media establishment is he demonstrating?
What are you afraid of, Slide? Why do you have to try to sweep any post which tangentially mentions any news organization under the "oh, more 'media bashing'" rug? Can't you respond with any substance, as you constantly demand? Doesn't look like it, and according to your own criteria, you must be terrified of a successful message.
There was, by the way, no "media bashing" here. Pelley-bashing, sure. Media bashing? Point it out. This was a very specific post about a very specific thing.
Oh, another article bashing the media. How special. Again, who are you guys running against Obama or the corporate owned media?
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseUnfortunately both -- corporate media is the house organ of the Democratic Party.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseA: They're running against Obama and his enabling allies, the leftist ideologues in the media who seek an activist role beyond reporting.
This was an example of advocacy "journalism" and how to clearly and decisively call it out with a cogent response.
Reply to this commentLinkReport Abuse"corporate owned media"?
You mean the court stenographers at CBS? (with apologies to Mr. Steyn for stealing his line...)
It was a pleasure watching Speaker Gingrich beat that smug grin off of Pelley's face.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseIt is an article of faith on the left that media should be judged by its ownership, not by its product.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI know you all like it when Newt complains about the media, but there is a danger about whining all the time, you do remember this don't you?

Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseThis is the new meme, evidently, to be posted everywhere. /eyeroll/
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbusePeople, please, please, do not feed the trolls.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI second that motion. (And this one is like a little kid having read a pamphlet someone gave him, running through the halls and screaming in every room.)
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI third the motion.

lol..... delusion isn't even a strong enough word for such nonsense.
But I see you all have your talking points for when Obama wins re-election. It of course will be all the media's fault.

Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI don't feed the trolls. I stomp them.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseThat's the problem. They like it.

Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseLove the look on Pelley's face. Why does the GOP let clowns like Pelley run our debates? Although it has certainly helped Newt...
