Rich, re that “Man Arrested And Charged In Bomb Plot,” don’t worry about Señor Pimentel also being “known as Muhammad Yusuf.” Mayor Bloomberg has already pronounced him a “lone wolf“:
Mayor: ‘Lone Wolf’ Terror Suspect Arrested
Alleged ‘Lone Wolf’ Arrested In New York On Terror Charges
’Lone Wolf’ Terror Suspect Arraigned In New York
So relax. He’s just another working stiff from Local 473 of the Amalgamated Union of Lone Wolves. Any connection between Muhammad and any other Mohammeds, Mohameds, Muhammeds or Muhamads is purely coincidental. For one thing, Mr Yusuf was thinking of adopting the name “Osama Hussein,” after Messrs bin Laden and Saddam, but worried that it might draw unwanted attention to himself. Which shows how little he knows about us.
So nothing to worry about. There’ll be another lone wolf along any moment. All jihad is local.
I know Mark wets his panties every time some nut job stays he is waging jihad against the Great Satatn, but you know some times a nut job is just a nut job. Mind you i am not saying a nutjob can cause some problems and i am glad NYPD is on it, but lets be real, this individual had zero connection to any terrorist group. His email to al Alwaki wasn't even answered. He was so far removed from any terrorist group that the FBI wasn't even interested.
So, Mark change your pants and try to resist the urge to run and hide under your bed every time "terrorism" is tangentially mentioned. When did the right become such frightened little children?
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseAwww, I think someone's upset about losing his wittle gold star. Try not to let it get you down, you're still everyone's favorite troll - much less wordy than that Welk's fellow, and your impotent, frustrated rage is so cute!
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseThanks for the substantive response Jake.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseHa, Slide, I love that you think people actually read your comments for anything more than the mild entertainment derived from your silly utter hatred aimed at the right.
I'm not sure from what your hatred stems (personal failure?), but that you seem to expect anything more than mockery (particularly when your original comment accuses Mark Steyn of wetting his panties...) only serves to put on your display your complete social ineptitude and ignorance. Up twinkles!
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseTactics like "[w]hen did the right become such frightened little children?" and the ever-popular (paraphrase) "You guys only mock OWS because you're afraid of them" are rather trite, aren't they?
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseNot true.
Evidently he got "inspired" by reading the online al-Qaeda publication "Inspire":

When someone is a fan of an al-Qaeda publication, that's just a teensy-weensy step from being a member of al-Qaeda.
That's why al-Qaeda publishes "Inspire"--to attract guys like him.
Mayor Bloomberg called him "an al-Qaeda sympathizer." That's good enough for me.
It should be good enough for you too.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbusePeople get just as dead if the bomb is set by a 'lone wolf' as they do if the whole of Al Qaeda 'allahuakbarred' over it, Slide.
But a nutjob who blows up a bomb all on his lonesome to advance the Dar Al-Islam is still doing the same thing the groups are doing for the same ends.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseKiddie Slide,
The question is not, "Why is Mark Steyn so concerned that this guy is affiliated with/aligns himself with an Islamic terrorist group?", but rather, "Why is it so important to liberals like you that he NOT be?"
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI would like to know why lefties wet their panties every time someone like Steyn upsets the leftist political correctness apple cart? Why do they run to hide under their beds to avoid talking about the real problem, Islamist violence, instead attacking those someone who don't wish to appease the criminals?
Reply to this commentLinkReport Abuse"When did the right become such frightened little children?"
Rejecting the characterization, but accepting the underlying question... I think it was around 9/11/2001 when a dozen jihadists finally succeeded in knocking down the World Trade Towers in Manhattan.
Tragically, they didn't get serious in November of 1979, or after any of the many other (admittedly, usually lesser) disasters. Nor are they really serious now, since Iran's regime is still firmly in place.
But that's the answer to your question.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseSince when did fighting back become classified as cowardice?
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseIs the description "lone wolf" supposed to allay our fears? I understand jihad to mean that each believer is an independent contractor of terror.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseMark, since New York seems to be the home of PC and they seem intent in missing or dismissing the danger then it's hard to care.
My only view is if the terrorists continue to try to attack America they should confine their efforts to only New York City or other such liberal cities. That way when the terrorists miss the target the all-inclusive bureaucrats can denounce the rest of America for the usual intolerance for Islam.
I worry for the innocents who will be the most likely victims in the attack. However, one can't help but sort of wish that one of the PC apostles would get caught in the crossfire of PC rhetoric and the homicidal tendencies of the Jihad terrorists.
It would serve 'em right.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseMark has stated exactly what I thought when listening to Mayor Trans-fat talk about the "Lone Wolf". Mayor Bombast assured us this guy wasn't affiliated with ANY terrorist organization. Give me a break--he affiliated himself with the most dangerous terrorist group today which is "main stream Islam."
Reply to this commentLinkReport Abuse"He’s just another working stiff from Local 473 of the Amalgamated Union of Lone Wolves."
Dang you Steyn! You say the same thinks I think in much more colorful ways. Continuing as a loyal Steyn Phrase Turning University student.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseActually, he's more of a 1-man Wolf Pack.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI'm surprised bloomberg didn't say the guy was a tea partier who was upset with obamacare.
Maybe he had that one ready to go but the radical islamist information came out and ruined his chance to use it first.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseNo fact will sway the leftoid narrative.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseHow do you handle a suspect named Muhammed? If you're the NY Times, bury the lede. If you're the mayor of NY City, pronounce him a lone wolf. If you're the NYPD, tail 'im and jail 'im. Kudos to the bluest and finest.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseExcellent point clwydd. One of the encouraging things about Commissioner Kelley's part of the newser was that the NYPD and other police agencies in the State of NY had been watching this fellow since 2009 and swooped in when it looked like he was going to act. Kudo's to the cops on this one.
