Newt Gingrich struck a confident note in an interview on Fox News Channel’s Hannity to be aired tonight.
“Whereas I would have thought originally it was going to be Mitt and not-Mitt, I think it’s going to — it may turn out to be Newt and not-Newt,” Gingrich predicted.
“It’s clear that across the country, people are saying, ‘you know, I think we need Newt Gingrich because we need somebody who can debate Obama, we need somebody who has actually done it before, we need somebody with very substantial big ideas,’” Gingrich remarked.
Asked if he believed that human-caused global warming was real, Gingrich responded, “I believe we don’t know.”
In response to how the media had covered his work for Freddie Mac, Gingrich commented, “Look, some elements of the press, largely the Obama reelection team, are determined to distort everything they can … As Randy Evans, our attorney, has said, we brought in outside counsel, who were experts on this. We held training sessions for our staff. We put things in writing.”
