Romney in 2002: ‘My Views Are Progressive’

Another old Mitt Romney video is making the blog rounds. In this one, from 2002, Romney says that he is “not a partisan Republican,” but “someone that is moderate, and my views are progressive”:

Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul gave this statement to Politico in response:

The very last thing the Democrats want to do is run against Mitt Romney. That is why they are focused on his campaign and not on the economy. The Democrats are continuing their campaign of deception in their strategy to ‘kill Romney.’ If anyone has a question of how Mitt Romney will govern as president, take a look at his record of creating jobs, cutting spending, and protecting the sanctity of life and traditional marriage. That was his record as Governor and that will be his record as president.

Any Romneybots taking $10,000 bets on how he did any of those while Gov of Mass? The spokesperson never addresses the video directly.

Michael, Indeed. Romney is so much better than us, he is not partisan, he is interested in progress. We do not deserve someone who is so magnanimous and forward-thinking. Perhaps there's still time for him to file in Democratic Party primaries?

So now it's "deceptive" to bring up a clip where Romney describes himself as moderate and progressive.

I'll certainly vote for Romney if he's the nominee, but if he can't deal with these comments from his past, or do a better job of selling himself over Gingrich, then that will make my GOP GOTV effort as a Precinct Captain tougher.

LOL!!! Yea, let's take a look at Slick 'I will protect a woman's right to choose murder' 'I was not a Regan Republican' Romney's record of creating the same bureaucrat-run health care that Obama did, (but at the state level, so that's ok), raising taxes and amassing an abysmal job creation legacy while governing from the far left. That's some record.

Please, anyone but this turkey.

Ah, the old author who continues to sink the fine image of John Galt.

Remember offering that ugly religious bias?

Or was that another delusional fashion follower?

That religious bias exists in your own mind only.

As to delusional fashion followers. Have you made the acquaintance of a mirror lately?

You still offer nothing, no basis, no facts, without reason.

You seem to be eager to give the Nomination to a career politician who has been entrenched in the Beltway forever? The same who just debased Capitalism yesterday? The same who said the reason he was getting funds via Fannie and Freddie was because of his work as an "historian"?

And yet you are stuck on a bias against a proven Private Sector CEO who has endless accomplishment?

Sure, makes perfect sense, for a Democrat.

Classic OldFan.

Change the subject when it is lost, and renew the baseless lies that started it all.

Why do you insist on telling such easily disprovable lies? Are you really that desperate to support the unsupportable candidate?

Perfect timing, after so many fashionably jumped on the bandwagon for a disastrous say-anything politician who was willing to make the disastrous Romneycare deal with the Massachusetts Democrats. He enables the entire Obamacare fiasco. A complete embarrassment who was being hyped by the entrenched Washington insiders.

Amazing, to see some who say they come from the "conservative" arena, who are so eager to embrace Romney suddenly. In so many ways he resembles another entrenched Washington Celebrity, John McCain.

You copied my writings and pasted them with a little alteration?

Thanks, a great compliment.

When some copy other's expression in this manner, it is a real sign of flattery.

And it is true, Gingrich is the ultimate in Beltway Insiders, that is a fact.

Yesterday he just trashed Capitalism - like Obama does everyday. That is Newt Gingrich, destined to lose.

Romney, a proven Private Sector offering, never trashed Capitalism, he empowered it.

A more likely explanation is that you have become a laughing stock, and most of us know exactly what you will say long before you get around to writting it.

Actually, it is the Newt Gingrich bandwagon which has become the source of jokes...

See this:

It is no wonder why Democratic Partisans want Newt Gingrich as the Nominee, the only way to save Obama.

Speaking of jokes, you are getting to be a bigger one with every post.

When Democrats attack Mitt, it's because they fear him.
When Democrats attack anyone else, it's because they don't fear them.

Your opinions are becoming as maleable and convenient as your man crush's.

Old fan doesn't seem to know the term "man crush", and incorrectly assumes that it involves homosexuality.

From the Urban Dictionary:

Man Crush: When a straight man has a "crush" on another man, not sexual but kind of idolizing him.

He also seems to think that "bro-mance" is also some kind of homosexual reference. It's not:

Bro-mance : The inseparable relationship between two or more heterosexual, often action-sports-participating, males. similar to the "hetero-life-mate", but based more on surf/skate/snow participation, party attendance and constant exchange of myspace comments and instant messages.

I wonder if Old Fan knows the term "Human Centipede", which could also apply?

Old Fan needs to get out more.
