Gingrich Leads Romney in Virginia

by Brian Bolduc

Newt Gingrich leads Mitt Romney among Virginia Republicans by a 30–25 margin, according to the latest poll by Quinnipiac University. But Romney fares better against President Obama, winning 44 percent of Virginia voters to Obama’s 42 percent. In a contest with Gingrich, Obama wins by a 46–41 percent margin.

Meanwhile, the Virginia Senate race is too close to call: Republican George Allen wins 44 percent, while Democrat Tim Kaine wins 42 percent.
