Kim and Havel

Text

From my most recent NRO article, on the passing of two historic figures: “It is widely believed that we had no practical choice but to tolerate the installation of Kim Il Sung in Pyongyang and Stalin’s satellization of the Czechs. Neither assumption is true. The West and its leaders did well in World War II and the Korean War, but we could have done better and can learn from the mistakes we made only if we acknowledge them.”

Whether you agree or disagree, your comments are, as always, most welcome.
