Famed supply side pioneer Art Laffer endorsed Newt Gingrich today. “Newt has the best plan for jobs and economic growth of any candidate in the field,” Laffer said in a statement. “Like Ronald Reagan’s tax cuts and pro-growth policies, Newt’s low individual and corporate tax rates, deregulation and strong dollar monetary policies will create a boom of new investment and economic growth leading to the creation of tens of millions of new jobs over the next decade.”
“Plus, Newt’s record of helping Ronald Reagan pass the Kemp Roth tax cuts and enacting the largest capital gains tax cut in history as Speaker of the House shows he can get this plan passed and put it into action,” Laffer added.
Elizabeth Dole announced her endorsement of Mitt Romney today as well. “In a phone call Monday afternoon, I advised Governor Romney that I’m supporting him and will do whatever I can to be of assistance between now and the November election,” she said in a statement. “I’ve been in all of Iowa’s 99 counties twice and have met hundreds and hundreds of dedicated voters. Endorsements may not matter, but hopefully my friends in Iowa will also offer their support to the Governor, a man of experience, leadership and unassailable character.”
I don't know whether the Dole endorsement helps or hurts Romney.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI don't think endorsements really mean much of anything, but I'd wager $10K that an exponentially greater number of Iowans have heard of Liddy Dole than have heard of Art Laugher.
Plus, Bob Dole won IA twice. He's very well liked there, and really, this statement is only about IA.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseToo bad Bob Dole didn't endores Romney then.

Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseThe above article did not state that Libby was endorsing Romney?
Did I bruise your ego so badly then?
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseIt doesn't usually hurt my ego to be right. Nor to point out buffoonery.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseYou've been right? When?
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseIn knowing that Bob Dole endorsed Romney.
I also know that Elizabeth Dole's nickname is "Liddy," not "Libby".
But keep digging, little man.
Captcha: in stitches
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseOK, I didn't know that Bob Dole had endorsed Romney. I don't follow every move of the messiah the way you guys do. So what.
Past loser RINO endorses future loser RINO, big freaking deal.

Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseArgumentation for it's own sake, Mark?
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseAnd you said:
"Too bad Bob Dole didn't endores [sic] Romney then."
But Bob Dole did 'endores' Romney.
Too bad the real world doesn't just compartmentalize into discussions about individual articles.
Sheesh.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseHmm, in a discussion about a particular article, we can't assume that the discussion is limited to a particular article???
If you say so.
