Frum forever stained the reputation of National Review with his cover story "Unpatriotic Conservatives". Those opposed to the Iraq war were anti American. Buckley should have cleaned house after that. What a disaster.
Anyway, he'll find himself much more at home at this new destination. There he can join David Brooks, Michael Gerson, and Kathleen Parker in growing the ranks of the "I'm not one of THOSE kinds of conservatives" who love lobbing spitballs at friends and turning his nose up at the rabble.
And, now it is even more mysterious how that Canadian managed to not only weasel his way into the Bush administration but also onto the National Review.

What happens to the other writers on the modestly named FrumForum? Do they just go look for other gigs?
And he goes out with one more swipe at Palin. I'm no Sarah fan, but Frum is clinically paranoid about her.

Good riddance Frum you bum!
You were never a conservative, just a Catholic crony of NR.
Religion and politics don't mix and Frum should have never been able to write for National Review.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseCatholicism = bad, Mormonism = good. Now I get it.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseOh Tef, when will you ever learn?
I'm a big fan of the Roman Catholic Church.
But, let's face it, other than it's righteous and steadfast opposition to abortion, the Catholic church in America is kind of liberal.
Much more liberal than the Mormon church or even most evangelical churches.
So, you can be a good Catholic like Santorum for example, and still be a Nanny statist...well much like Santorum.

Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI feel sorry for people who can only think binary.

Did he convert while we weren't looking?
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseFrum is an intelligent, thoughtful person, a good writer and appears to be a decent guy. I'll be a new reader of NewsBeast.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseKnowing the diposition of most of your posts, I'm shocked, I tell ya.

Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseLOL, Good Riddance. No surprise that he runs to the bosom of fellow lefty Tina Brown.
If a pathetic blog noone reads closes shop, does anyone notice?
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseNo. Because savvy businesswoman Tina Brown loves to decrease her ad revenue by hiring pathetic bloggers no one reads.
