MSNBC Panelist: Economic Recovery the Best of ‘our Lifetime’

In what is sure to be a staple of Democratic talking-points heading into the general election, former Democratic congressional staffer turned MSNBC talking head Julian Epstein argued that President Obama “has turned around an economy,” and that “that kind of economic turnaround, we have not seen in our lifetime.” The conservative on the panel, strategist Cheri Jacobus, cannot help but laugh. Meanwhile, host Martin Bashir is especially eager to hear how great the recovery has been.

Well, I have to say for my daughter this is absolutely true. Of course she doesn't know that since she is just 3. Although, I think she may have a better grasp on math than the white house.

I stumbled across Martin Bashir's show a week or so ago and was astounded at what a hate-fest it was: character assassination, personal attacks, anything but facts and analysis. Unbelievable stuff.

Welcome to the new, Obama, narrative:

"The growth over the last two years is PHENOMENAL compared to when we started (insert best possible date to maximize GDP "growth"). "

Of course, typically, post recession growth is far above average (much less 2%) and employment increases (along with labor participation rates). But its all about getting ONE talking point out there that the liberal media can flog for you, isn't it?

Epstein is a child prodigy! Only three years old and he can read Obama Administration economic reports.

Of course, because he is only three years old, he believes them.

Interesting, since housing is still in the dumps and the fed is saying unemployment will probably rise.

where does it say that unemployment is expected to rise? I thought we had some good unemployment reports out recently.

The best of our lifetime? Well, to believe it, you'd have to be born yesterday.

Comrades,

"Our Dear Leader announces that the latest 5 year plan has produced record numbers of jackets for this record heat wave" The wait is only 5 days!

Seriously? The only expanding business these days is the HUGE company "FOR LEASE,"
followed by "Going Out of Business" and those businesses producing nothing and don't even to bother to open their doors.

This is intellectual dishonesty not seen since the days of Breshnev. The fact that people dish this swill is only topped by the fact that some will choose to eat the slop.

Nauseating!

Those of us outside the Liberal fever swamp often assume someone like the oleaginous Julian Epstein (let him be a lesson to you young ones about the dangers of alcohol) is just saying this nonsense to be provocative. He does not believe it.

That's the giving them more credit than they have earned. These lunatics believe this stuff. The Obama crowd has been peddling the FDR comparisons since the guy got elected. They had the whole narrative worked out by the inauguration and they are not going to let facts and events get in the way.

Again, liberalism is a fanatical religious cult.

"The Obama crowd has been peddling the FDR comparisons since the guy got elected."

Good point. FDR's accomplishment -- to make a bad economy worse but make everyone feel good about it with skillful PR -- was a good trick, but it may be the kind of trick that only works once.

They would look you in the eye at noon and tell you it was nighttime. Democrats are lying b*astards who will say anything at anytime.

We need to be contrarily blunt about Obama's abject failure to combat the Big Lie of his competence.

Although financial experts predicted three years ago that the economy would slowly recover on its own, without government intervention and massive spending, for the sake of argument, let's assume President Obama's economic policies are responsible for the improving economy. Does Mr. Epstein believe we got our money's worth? Was a drop of one percent in the unemployment rate (which could rise again once Obama's policies go into full force and effect) and other anemic improvements worth almost $6 trillion in additional taxpayer debt?

Oddly enough, I originally mis-read that headline as saying "MSNBC Panelist: Economic Recovery to last the Rest of ‘our Lifetime’"

And it seemed to make sense to me.

This is true - if you are 3.
Otherwise, not so much...

Boy, I sure do hope they use this line in the general election. It's so outrageously off the mark that you can't help but laugh out loud. If they do this, this will illustrate to enough people that not only can the words that come out of their mouths not be believed on this issue, but on all issues. It's another example of them saying that x y or z does one thing (health care law cutting the deficit for example) when we all know it's a lie.

As Rush would say, this guy is landslideable, especially if they use this ridiculous line.

On the other hand, they are saying this on MSNBC, their base. MSDNC viewers will hear this sort of thing and believe it, and scream you down if you ask them to prove it. So maybe it's just to reassure the base that the ship is doing just fine, as Obama boards the life raft on the other end of the ship.
