In a press release, the super PAC said the ad would start running today “in a major ad buy that will blanket South Carolina from Charleston all the way to North Charleston.”
Colbert has formed an exploratory committee to consider running for president, and has talked about participating in the South Carolina GOP primary. However, the primary ballot does not have a write-in option, and Colbert is long past the deadline to file to be on the ballot.
