Really, it's rather weird when you think about the political coalitions that have allied themselves in support of SOPA/PIPA. The whole thing is just plain strange.
On another note, how the hell is it an abuse of power for private entities to voluntarily shutter their services based on what they believe? Does he believe it's an abuse of power when a company dares to go into bankruptcy proceedings as well?
Hell, does he even know what the term abuse of power means?
I was wondering why Chris Dodd, my ex-Senator (thank god) was sitting among the muckity-mucks at the Golden Globe Awards. He must be schilling(sp?) for them in Washington. Well then, of course he's going to support SOPA. Wasn't it written to protect Hollywood's pocketbook?
Hmm. In the Senate the bill is sponsored by Leahy and in the House Lamar Smith. Chris Dodd is no longer a Senator. Amazing how well NRO writers keep up with the times ....
Due to public outrage from both the right and the left SOPA and PIPA have lost support -- a rare convergence wherein the desire to keep one's elected seat caused numerous pols on both sides of the aisle to drop support for the bills. This is a win for regular folks who don't like gov't regulation of the net.
...and there you go.

Ditto.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI'd say Chris Dodd's name lies somewhere in between Lord Voldermort and Frau Blücher on the disquieting scale.

Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseMy early a.m. Email from RedState had Marco Rubio on board with SOPA. Severe chest pains; must check for heart attack.
But sanity has prevailed: Rubio must have awakened from his trance; he's no longer aligned with Dodd. (External Link
