Orangeburg, S.C. – Newt Gingrich is not amused by the Romney campaign call’s for him to divulge more details about his ethics investigation.
“He [Romney] doesn’t release anything. He doesn’t answer anything. And he’s even confused about whether he will ever release anything,” Gingrich told reporters this afternoon, adding that he believed the full report from the investigation was available online.
“He could have today released his tax records so the voters of South Carolina could discover something,” Gingrich added. “His father, by the way, released them a year before the election and released twelve years.”
Asked about the debate, he called CNN moderator John King’s first question about an interview his ex-wife, Marianne Gingrich gave, “grotesque.”
“You look at the first question and you have to say to yourself, you know, is the America media just totally out of touch with reality?” Gingrich said. “I don’t know whether it was as bad as 15 minutes on contraception, but it was one of those things, where you just have to say to yourself, get a life.”
When a French reporter apologized for her accent, Gingrich asked, “Do you know John Kerry?” Asked if he knew French, Gingrich, who ran an ad that criticized Romney for speaking French, said he did not, but “did speak French once upon a time.”
