You are forgetting that Daniels, like Gingrich, has "baggage". In his case, he was the architect of the majority of our present national debt. The Daily Show from January 25 (on Hulu) has an insightful analysis of his abilities as an inspirational orator. If he were to jump in, he would melt under the klieg lights faster than Perry.
