Presidential Pooch

David Axelrod tweets this pic of President Obama with his dog, Bo, in the presidential limo. “How loving owners transport their dogs,” he writes. (Hat tip: Politico Playbook)

Gingrich plans to run an ad claiming Obama rides around DC kidnapping dogs and strangling them in his limo.

Bo is showing clear signs of Stockholm Syndrome. He has the same posture as Patty Hearst. Save Bo from photo ops! Where is PETA?

I assume Axelrod then said "See, it's funny because Mitt Romney put his dog on top of the car because he hates dogs and wants them to suffer." Foiled again by Twitter's character limit.

What, no seat belt for the POTUS?

Nice collar on the dog, though.

Yes, much easier to do when you are riding around in a taxpayer provided limo by yourself as opposed to bringing your family with 5 boys and luggage back home in the same vehicle. Of course, this is after The One no doubt had the dog flown to him from the White House, need I say at taxpayers' expense, for this little photo op. After leaving the pooch behind for the staff to watch.....when have you ever seen this man play with the dog when it WASN'T a photo op? Or his girls? I won't even ask about Mrs. O because she don't play that.

Wow. You should take your meds. You think his girls don't play with the dog and know the first lady? Or are you just deranged?

"when have you ever seen this man play with the dog when it WASN'T a photo op?"

Um, never--because if I don't live or work with the guy, I necessarily will never see him play with the dog without a photo or video having captured it. For all I know, he enjoys the company of his canine just as much as the next guy when the cameras aren't there--and neither you nor I would never see it, because that's how it works.

I can't stand Obama any more than the next conservative, but, really, this is a bit much.

Ronnie and Dr. Palin - surely you jest! How many times did you see (just to keep it recent) W with Barney in situations where they had obviously been together, traveling, getting off the helicopter/plane, etc? There was never any reason for a contrived photo op because the dog was with them, not being flown thousands of miles to make an appearance as a prop. Not to mention Barney was around well before David Axelrod decided that BO needed BO the dog, with all the surrounding BS about naming the dog. Oh, yes, sure, a bit much....a bit too close to the truth perhaps?

Nice dig there Axelrod.

We also have mischief, in a different way, with George Soros is saying no difference between Obama and Romney. Maybe Creepy Dude is stirring up trouble, but there are serious doubts about this with the conservative base. All the more reason for this process to continue to the convention. Santorum needs to stay in. The only way to have this open is for Gingrich, Santorum and Paul to take enough delegates so it has to go to the convention. Claiming Romney won now and not letting this process vet out would be a big mistake by the GOP establishment.

So I guess the implication is hunters who use kennels for working dogs in the field are not "loving owners."

Axelrod is such a (cough, hack) card. Of course, Axelrod forgot to tweet a picture of "Bo" getting a solo ride from Hawaii to VA in Air Force One. So glad my taxpayer dollars can allow Bo to ride in style in both cases.

Don't get used to the cushy ride, Bo. This time next year it's back to Chicago.

For Bo, it will be off to the pound.

I am a loving dog owner who does not keep a leash on her dog inside the car. I have a feeling Bo wasn't in that limo any longer than it took the photographer and dog trainer to set up the shot.

I hope the next WH pet photo op will have a sepia Democrat nostalgia vibe, posing BarryO lifting Bo by his ears (LBJ and his beagle). Michelle could be smiling in the background wearing her Jackie sheath and pearls. Camelot revisited.

I am still emotionally scarred from seeing Lyndon Johnson's gall bladder incision at a very young age, so I hope not to see anything similar in my lifetime (Note: I was reading Life and Look magazines as a toddler).

Hate to burst your bubble, Jenna, but there's a leash hitched to the collar in that pic

D'oh. Sorry Jenna. Misread your comment. Please ignore me. I'll return to my cave now...

I'm a loving dog owner, too, and I always keep the leash on my dog inside the car. It is too much hassle to take it on and off again.
