Donald Trump today came out in support of Mitt Romney. Which gives me occasion to remind all of you that Trump is a clown. What kind of clown? As the editors recently put it, a “tax-hike-supporting, missile-defense-opposing, universal-health-care-advocating, eminent-domain abusing, Schumer-Weiner-Rangel-Reid-donating, long-time-pro-choice economic protectionist” clown “who in 2008 called George W. Bush “evil” and lauded president-elect Barack Obama as a potentially “great president” who would “lead by consensus.””
Need more details on all of the above? Here you go.
RE: "What kind of clown?"
Ooh...I was going to guess "Juggling Clown". :(
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseDonald Trump is the king of meatball land.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseAnd he's backing the same candidate that The National Review does.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseSo:
NR = National Ringleader?
Something like THAT?
They are about to suffer -- in November -- a hard case of the Tom Thumb Blues, anyway.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseHe's also backing a candidate who doesn't desperately need money.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI don't understand, who cares what Donald Trump thinks? I hope the Romney campaign straight up ignores or even disavows this endorsement.

CLOWNS FOR ROMNEY!
Ringing endorsement, indeed.
And, way for Foster to steal Romney's thunder. Does Daniel not think Romney will or even should get much mileage from this "clown's" endorsement?
On the bright side -- for Romney -- is that this is only one half-step down from the endorsement he received from Bob Dole, at least in terms of convincng anyone how to vote.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseWould we still have seen the headline if Trump endorsed Newt?
Or would it have been - this underscores how Romney does not connect with the populist and Tea Party wingss of the party that wants a fighter, and shows how a succesful businessman chose Newt instead one of his own?
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseTrump is a clown, but it is the media who give him oxygen (just like they did with Herman Cain).
The endorsement certainly doesn't help Romney in any meaningful way. The only upside I can see is that this means Trump won't run as an independent, which would help Obama's chances for reelection.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseTrump. Coulter. I-am-not-a-witch. Endorsements to be proud of!
Too bad Angle went for Santorum.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseEven if Trump was a tax-cut-supporting, missile-defense-supporting, universal-health-care-opposing, Kelo-criticizing, Schumer-Weiner-Rangel-Reid-hating, long-time-pro-life free trader who said very nice things about W and bad things about Obama, he would still be a hideous clown prince of the booboisie with terrible hair and an ugly personality. And, frankly, horribly unfit to be considered even in jest as a presidential candidate.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseWell Foster then he's picked the right guy to support, as has the NR. You have written a great piece in support of your candidate.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseHe's also a "clown" who made tons of hay yelling "You're Fired", endorsing someone who "doesn't care about poor people". Nice images, those.
If you don't think that Romney is going to get destroyed by both of those come general election time, you're all off your gourd.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseYet I can't help but think that if he had come out for Gingrich, Trump would go from being a clown to being a sage.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseTrump is a clown but he's also someone probably most of the Newt supporters were supporting at some point last summer. What does that tell you about Newt?
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseNo. We weren't.
Trump is a liberal playing at 'conservatism'. Hey! that sounds familiar!
Could it be the candidate who enjoys the support of a man the Editors call a “tax-hike-supporting, missile-defense-opposing, universal-health-care-advocating, eminent-domain abusing, Schumer-Weiner-Rangel-Reid-donating, long-time-pro-choice economic protectionist” clown “who in 2008 called George W. Bush “evil” and lauded president-elect Barack Obama as a potentially “great president” who would “lead by consensus.””?
The candidate whose 'free market' company donates heavily to Democrats?
The candidate who provided the blueprints for the ACA?
The candidate who won't repeal the ACA?
The candidate who just expressed support for an indexed minimum wage?
Could it be?
Birds of a feather, an' all that, yes?
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseTrump was polling well among Republicans last spring. My brother-in-law, who listens to a lot of talk radio, thought Christine O'Donnell was a brilliant nomination, thought Trump was wonderful. Hannity and Limbaugh were deeply intrigued with him.
The common thread among Trump-Newtie-Palin is they're all erratic, would-be charismatic blowhards who create personality cults among a minority of voters. I bet you anything the Trump vote mostly went to Newt, wherever Trump himself went (I'm genuinely surprised he didn't endorse Newt).
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseRE: "Christine O'Donnell was a brilliant nomination"
She was. RINO Castle got the spanking he deserved. More to follow.
