Newt Loses the Punk-Rock Vote

Text

The problem with Newt Gingrich’s scheme for a colony on the moon is obvious: It’s a nice place to visit, but . . . Or, as The Queers, a New England punk band, memorably put it:

Well I’d like to fly to the moon
On a rocket ship high in the air
Yes I’d like to fly to the moon
But I don’t think I’d want to live there
Well I’d like to look down on the earth from above
How I’d miss all the places and the people I love
Well I know I’d enjoy it for one afternoon
But I don’t want to live on the moon

While The Queers have recorded a few anti-hippie songs over the years (e.g., “Granola Head” ), as far as I know, the band’s leader, Joe King, alias Joe Queer, has not made an endorsement in this year’s Republican primaries (though for what it’s worth, Gene Simmons of Kiss has endorsed Romney).
