We have a predictions symposium. And here she is:
Who would I choose? Well, for what it’s worth, just my two-cents — because my pick really isn’t worth a hill of beans and I trust Americans to choose their own favorite — I say, in order to keep this competitive battle going, to continue the needed vetting and debate, if I were there, I’d vote for Eli!
Scott Brown, Dana Perino, Bob Turner, Bill Bennett, and more are in there, too.
Wouldn't it be great to have a President with a sense of humor and a strong enough identity to not take herself so seriously?
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseYes, but it would be even better to have a President that everyone else took seriously.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI don't take your comment seriously, because you have obviously not researched Governor Palin's record, read her editorials, books, and commentary, or listened to her speeches, either in the U.S., or in India, Hong Kong, or South Korea.
If you're interested in doing any research, here's a place to start:

Meme...you must be proud to be part of the in-crowd. Do people like you better when you dog Palin?
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseFor some reason, people get upset when we imagine there are different types of roles that need to be played by different types of people. We assume our ideal "everyday" individual would naturally be ideal for the Presidency, because we think they represent some kind of ideal of what a person should be like.
But you make a terrible mistake if you think someone who is friendly and playful and doesn't take themselves seriously are any foremost qualities you want near the office of the Presidency. I think we'd like our Presidents to be friendly sure... at times. But not taking themselves seriously, actually would NOT be nice to have in a President.
Who are you electing? Oprah? Why do we insist that the President be someone who makes us feel good? Is that why people like Newt? He says things that make them feel good?

RESEARCH Sarah Palin's record as the public executive of her town and the chair of her state's oil and gas conservation commission and the public executive of her state. She has a stellar record as an elected and appointed, public sector leader.
MUCH better than Mitt Romney's, for example.
She actually made real cuts to budgets, not baseline budgeting. She actually privatized state-run companies. She actually stood up against corruption in her own party.
I'm sorry she's not running for president this cycle because I take her record much more seriously than I take Mitt Romney's.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI wholeheartedly agree, Sarah is cool people....
