The National Marriage Project certainly didn't make this report easy to read and it is methodologically odd, so some misinterpretation is understandable. The report does not, however, say what you seem to think it does. None of the top predictors of women's marital satisfaction have to do with religion/spirituality or number of children. The part of the analysis you refer to in your column is a simple regression of number of children on marital satisfaction, but the problem is that for this model they seem to throw out all the variables aside from demographic controls. In other words, they come up a list of best predictors of marital happiness and then completely ignore them when they look at the relationship of satisfaction to number of children. They really should have included all of these in the same model, but as is the answer to your question of happiest wives is *not* religious participants with more than four children, it is sexually satisfied women who are committed to their marriage to a generous husband.
Only politicians wife's are happy? What does it say it say about the arthur when she says let's take a break from politics and then writes about politicians wife's.
How can you possibly claim Ann Romney is a happy wife when she lives in a state that marries same-sex couples?? Her marriage has been undermined every day for the past eight years!!
Or is MAGGIE GALLAGHER actually implying that the happiness of straight couples' marriages is - gasp - not affected in the slightest by gay couples being able to marry? I know Maggie would never lead me astray like this, so I am eagerly waiting for the correction to this post that tells us the truth about how troubled and difficult the Romneys' marriage has been since same-sex marriage became legal in Massachusetts.
Umm...someone should edit this;
(Hint: Ann Romney, *Rick* Santorum, and Carol Paul are all examples).

Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseMy captcha was "men in suits" but clearly it should have been "men in drag".
Obviously, Maggie means KAREN Santorum! LOL.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI have to say that it'd make the campaign a lot more interesting if Rick Santorum turned out to be a drag queen....
