There has been chatter about Romney performing strongly among conservatives in Nevada and how it might be a sign he’s gaining appeal on the right. But the outcome in Nevada made me think of this excellent Jay Cost post from the other day about how regional rather than ideological differences may be most telling in the Republican race.
Between the beat downs our candidates have taken from establishment Republican punditry and the beat downs they are now taking from Romney who can afford to bury them in negative advertising they cannot possibly compete with, I am starting to see my Republican friends losing hope and saying Obama is going to win re-election.
Instead of allowing conservatives to make up our minds on a level playing field analysis of the candidates, we've had to deal with being mugged by propaganda from within our own ranks. If Obama wins re-election, I blame those in the Republican Who's Who, who in their infinite wisdom decided we out here in America were, after all, too dumb to choose the best person for the nomination.

You can call yourself anything you like, but it's actions that do the talking. Big government Republicans are not conservatives. The tea party arose to combat the bailouts and Obamacare, and the Romney is the poster child for both. Any wonder there is low turnout and no enthusiasm.
