Occupiers Promise To Turn It Up A Notch At CPAC

This could get very ugly. There are a lot of guys at CPAC who daydream about the Occupy types picking a fight with them.

During a Thursday meeting at McPherson Square, until Saturday the epicenter of the protests, Occupiers brainstormed tactics for shutting down or disrupting the conference, according to a source who was present at the meeting.
The protesters suggested pulling fire alarms in the hotel where the conference will take place, screaming “fire” during conference activities, “glitter-bombing” participants, cutting electrical power, and barricading entrances to the hotel, according to the source, who requested anonymity.
“Speakers will be physically assaulted, not just verbally confronted,” the source told Scribe in an email. Two Occupiers, who the source also identified as members of the New Black Panther Party, “said they would be disappointed if they didn’t get arrested and planned to ‘make it count.’”
The source quoted another protester as saying, “Mitt [Romney] has Secret Service now, but [Newt] Gingrich and [Andrew] Breitbart don’t,” seemingly suggesting that the latter two would not be as heavily guarded.
Protesters planned to conduct most of these activities on Saturday, the last day of the conference, so as not to overlap with the recently announced protests by labor groups on Thursday and Friday.

Then again, like most of what these people say, it could all be b.s.

Get in their face and punch back twice as hard.

I hope a lot of videocameras will be rolling so charges can be pressed.

This could be a lot of fun! As long as they don't get in and interrupt the speakers I would love to deal with some sticky occupiers outside.

As many suggested at its inception, Occupy Wall Street has nothing to do with Wall Street greed and saving the middle class. It has everything to do with anti-American malcontents looking for an excuse to cause chaos, destroy public property and get their faces on TV.

I never knew you felt that way about the Heritage Foundation. I guess it's part of your personal growth.

When they blocked the exits to that one convention center, I know what I would have done. I would have proceeded to the blocked doors and informed them they were committing felonious restraint, then proceeded to inform them I was going to resort to self-defense to prevent said felonious restraint. Then I would have soundly trounced enough to clear the doors. I hope CPAC attendees consider the appropriate legal definitions when these numbskulls try their schtick.

And, I would have ensured that it was all captured on camera.

So you clear the doors, but do you escape?

This puts the lie to all that "nonviolent" nonsense. Are these people bound and determined to prove Ann Coulter and Michael Walsh right? It's really frustrating because I know decent people who are Dems, yet the only Dems who seem to be making headlines and worse, holding the reins of power, are the wackos.

I do hope they'll have police and other security measures in place, given that they know this is coming. It would be irresponsible for them not to.

Like usual, we can count on the Left to demonstrate intolerance not only of dissent, but of the rights of others to assemble and speak. There is no movement more strongly opposed to diversity of thought nor less respectful of dissenting viewpoints than the modern American Left.

Not "b.s.", if you please -- "a campaign of fear, uncertainty, and doubt".

IN fact, doesn't the "premeditation" by announcing this make any charges that are filed against the miscreants that much more serious, perhaps transforming misdemeanors into felonies, etc. etc.? I wonder how these "kids" will like it when they wind up in the pokey with big legal bills ahead to defend themselves and find out, when they ask their superiors in the "movement" that they are, of course, mere cannon fodder.

"There are a lot of guys at CPAC who daydream about the Occupy types picking a fight with them."

I share their sentiment.

However, as much fun as it would be, the guys at CPAC should be reminded that this is exactly what the Left is looking for. They were dying for the Tea Parties to turn violent and when they didn't, they did the violence themselves and then tried to deny it or turn it around on us.

They want a confrontation and if we give it to them, the top will start to come down (faster than it did with just the OWS by itself) and things will start to turn inside out.

I think the perfect pictures for the day after CPAC will be CPAC members being utterly peaceful, like, dare I say Christian martyrs, and accepting what is done to them (especially women), and then let those pictures get around.

No matter how much the Left thinks that people in America sympathize with OWS (and they may still simply on class warfare grounds), OWS will be considered persona non grata in perpetuity if something like that happens.

Typical that the folks who are complaining about their First Amendment rights being trampled have no problems plotting to silence those they disagree with.

And the doing it by putting people's lives at risk. Classy!

Golly. Ron Paul's OWS supporters have been getting more violent lately.

CPAC is going to be an eclectic mix of Ron Paul libertarians, neocons, social conservatives , christian evangelicals, and paleos.

There was going to be tension there without the 'occupiers'.

Oh yeah, Jonah. Let's have a big fight so we can prove the bottom line is how tough we really are. Except that it isn't and we aren't.

Actual tough guys avoid fights because they learned (in the process of becoming tough guys) that you usually get hurt even if you win, and that your opponent isn't vanquished, just encouraged to seek revenge.

How'd that Iraq thing work out for ultimate fake tough guy Bush? I think Bush provided a great example that cowards spoil for the wrong fight, and then conveniently skip the action when the time comes. All that expense and mayhem and now we are sneaking away and they are back to where they would have been if we had saved the cash and the body bags. Just like the hippies warned him. So it turns out, in actual fact, that the hippies were right and the fake tough guys were wrong, and the real tough guys are dead.
