‘You lost sight of your own beliefs’

While continuing to lend the president credibility he does not deserve on the human-rights issue of our day, former Obama administration ambassador to Malta, Doug Kmeic, is another former Obama voter who is writing a letter to the president in protest of the HHS mandate, and declaring himself “now unhappily without a candidate.”

Doug Kmeic disgraced himself with his endorsement of an avowedly pro abortion politician in 2008 (remember Obama's stand against the bill in the Illinois Senate to protect children who survived abortions?).

Now he would be justifiably a target of ridicule for his "shocked, shocked" discovery that he supported a man who would attack the rights of Catholic institutions.

Doug, we told you so. Unfortunately you weren't listening. But did you enjoy that ambassadorship?

A candidate is not the only thing Kmiec is unhappily without.

The President hasn't lost sight of his beliefs. What Mr. Kmiec and millions of others are finding out is that they were fooled. The President never had those beliefs.

What an embarrassingly obsequious letter from somebody who is watching freedom of religion being trampled to ensure there are free condoms for everybody. But if Dear Leader would just trample 10% less, then dear Mr. Kmeic will be right back on the Obama bandwagon, championing his judgment, charity and open-mindedness.

This is the first part of the first amendment: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof" - how the heck does a Constitutional Law Professor not understand the clear meaning of that?

Of course he understands it - he just doesn't give a darn.

Is Douglas Kmeic for real? He sold out all of his principles in 2008 so he could join the Obama fad. For his efforts, he was first given a minor ambassadorship and then fired from it when he wrote something critical of abortion. Now he says that it is Obama who has lost sight of his own beliefs, and only now he is without a candidate. Kmeic must be the biggest fool in the universe.
