At 6:30 I’ll be debating Reason editor Matt Welch on the question “Are Libertarians Part of the Conservative Movement?” It looks like it will be packed house. If you can’t come down to AEI to watch it in person, you can watch the live-feed of the debate here. You can also tweet questions and feedback with the hashtag #AEIDebates.
This means I’ve got just under two hours to sober up.
Jonah, I'm having a martini right now (this bar has WiFi). I won't tune in to your event, so instead I'll have another martini on your behalf. Cheers. (I can walk/stumble home from the bar; it's not far away.)

Free libertarian joke.
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseGood luck, Jonah. Hopefully you and Matt can have a lively, spirited, and respectful discussion on the topic.
The last time I heard a 'Conservative v. Libertarian' debate, it was a tedious exercise from the guys at CATO, where conservative college students explained why they were conservative, and libertarian college students explained how conservativism is innately evil and destructive to liberty.
Honestly, it was like asking a Ron Paul supporter how to get to the Federal Reserve headquarters.
