Global Persecution of Christians

From my most recent NRO article, on the underreported human-rights story of our time: “Best estimates are that about 200 million Christians are in communities where they are persecuted. There is not the slightest question of the scale and barbarity of this persecution, and a little of it is adequately publicized. But this highlights the second half of the atrocity: the passivity and blasé indifference of most of the West’s media and governments.”

Whether you agree or disagree, your comments are, as always, most welcome.

From the moment Islam appeared it was an enemy of Christendom and the West. It remains so. Next to agnosticism, it is the greatest threat. The sadness is that we in the West acquiesce to it. 1000 years ago we sent thousands of men across the globe to defend it when the muslim horde was murdering Christians by the thousands, seizing Christian cities and lands, and forcibly converting our fellow Christians who were allowed to live. Now we do not lift a finger. We are getting what we deserve.
When the liberal women and the perverts turn around and the Christians who manned the walls are gone, and they're faced with millions of mohammedans who want them dead or in captivity, what will they whine about then?

The west makes no comment about these atrocities because our ruling elite is jealous that their Islamic buddies have such a free hand.

Of course, Catholic Christians are now under assault here in the U.S.

bpbatista, You mean Catholics are paying attention now that it's them. You vote for Obama and get seats on SCOTUS and Evangelicals worldwide are constantly persecuted. But Rome doesn't care, it is respected by the World because it is the World and gets itself on lists of approved religions. Catholics will surely cut a deal now, special concessions from O, because you are his people. Not HIS people.

Umar Mulinde is a pastor who has been flown to Israel for medical treatment after being attacked with acid at his church in Kampala, Uganda. Half of his head and face, one arm and his upper chest were totally burned by the acid, including loss of sight in one eye.

The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office heard about his plight, intervened and had Mulinde flown to Israel for treatment.

Mulinde, a Muslim who was trained to be an Imam, came to faith in Jesus after a supernatural revelation. He later began to study about Israel, and realized that Islam had lied to him, and that there was a plan for Israel in the Bible.

This year Mulinde sponsored a conference with 5,000 pastors in the Kampala stadium, speaking about Israel. He also organized a petition in Uganda of 360,000 which successfully stopped the establishment of Islamic courts in Uganda. The Muslims issued a Fatwa (death sentence) against him.

He was attacked on Dec 24th after 300 people received Jesus at the church he pastors. Pray for Umar Mulinde. He has gone through numerous skin grafting operations. Two Israeli Messianic Jewish congregations are helping to take care of his family needs.

Israel acts where others flounder in apathy.
