Five Senate Democrats Take Issue with HHS Mandate

Also via ABCNews

“This was a bone-headed decision by HHS,” Sen. Ben Nelson said of the new Health and Human Services mandates, according to the Nebraska Radio Network.

Nelson agreed with state Attorney General Job Bruning’s decision to file a legal challenge to the mandate.

Florida’s Nelson has also raised concerns. “My position is that church-affiliated organizations should be exempt, not just churches,” Nelson told theTampa Bay Times Buzz Blog, adding that he has called the White House to express his concerns.

“It’s a matter of religious freedom,” Nelson spokesman Dan McLaughlin told ABC News.

Five--only five Democrats in the Senate have figured out this violates the Constituion and imperils freedom. That is fewer than 10% of the Dem's in the Senate who see this as a threat to freedom. Yet, Republican's are viewed as the problem by the MSM?? What is worse is we still have Republican's who want to "reach across the ailse" and be bipartisan than stand up an say "no more."

“My position is that church-affiliated organizations should be exempt, not just churches,”
Well, my position is that everyone should be exempt.

“It’s a matter of religious freedom,”
It's a matter of freedom, period.

Is this the beginning of death by a thousand cuts? What about seniors who have need for contraception, women who are trying to have children, men with vasectomies, women with hysterectomies, gay couples, male and/or female and/or transgender. There are hosts of people who have no need to have to pay additional premiums for insurance that provides services for which they have no conceivable (no pun intended) need. This the broader issue of all mandates.

Is this the same Ben Nelson who is the sole reason we have Obamacare in the first place? He could have stopped it then...now he feigns concern? He's a disgrace to Nebraska, to America, and Christians everywhere. He may have his thirty pieces of silver now, but Nebraskans remember....and he will have to give an account one day.
