Cristina’s Churl

Global statesman and Chavez chum Sean Penn is probably not the most popular man in Britain today.

Via the Huffington Post:

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina — Actor Sean Penn is taking Argentina’s side in the Falkland Islands dispute. Penn met with Argentine President Cristina Kirchner on Monday and then urged Britain to join U.N.-sponsored talks over what he called “the Malvinas Islands of Argentina.”

Penn says “the world today is not going to tolerate any ludicrous and archaic commitment to colonialist ideology.”

That the islanders themselves wish things to stay as they are apparently counts for nothing to the great anti-colonialist. Some examples of self-determination are, it seems, more equal than others.

Oh well.

The islands were uninhabited the British set up a settlement there.
Beyond that, the very idea that the descendants of the colonialist power Spain, are trying to claim that mantle of anti-colonialists is so absurd, that only a liberal, or an actor could buy it.

Reminds me of all the Hollywood types who love to wax poetic about the wonders of the People's Revolution of ... whatever h#ll hole they visited the weekend before.

Be it Castro's Cuba, or Nicaraugua under the Sandinistas, they worked hard to prove that Communism always worked and the people under it were always healthy and happy.

The reality was never as important as supporting the ideology.

Why limit it to the Falklands? Let's open negotiations with Argentina over rights to the Shetlands, the Orkneys, and the Bailiwick of Jersey.

Well then, let me post a timeless Brition's reply.

The British were there first, the islands were uninhabited and the current residents want to stat British.

So who's the wannabe colonialist here?

Penn won't be attending any 2012 London Olympics events. Not without better hair gel, a mouth guard, and lots of boo-boo strips for his outmatched Bolivarian bodyguards. Those Brit yobos and even the Fleet Street gentlemen in the finer establishments will wipe the floor with his sissy-boy face.

"Global statesman, pothead, and Chavez chum Sean Penn is probably not the most popular man in Britain today"

-The idiot smokes dope every day and is neck and neck on the jack*** scale with Woody Harrelson.

I'd like to see him run his drivel on a royal Marine. I mean I'd pay top dollar to watch.

I'm not some huge fan of the guy or a big defender - I think his relationships with Chavez and Castro are pretty despicable - but, for those that don't know, he's spent most of the last two years on the ground in Haiti, leading relief efforts. He founded an NGO, J/P Haiti Relief Organization, which has helped resettle hundreds of thousands of displaced refugees. And, as you'll see from the links below, it's far from some fly-over "lend-my-name" enterprise. He's become an expert on the country, which recently named him "Ambassador-at-Large" and is deeply involved in on-the-ground decisions of the recovery efforts. So, anyway, he's certainly doing more than "smoke dope every day." (You do know, he's not *actually* Spicolli, right?)

You are using Rolling Stone as a source? Gosh, I’d bet they used all they balanced journalistic standards they are known for. These are the folks so frustrated by the integrity of U.S. servicemen that they had to resort to simply passing on al Qaeda propaganda. Did you catch that hard hitting Obama interview?

Bozo the Clown speaks......it must be so. Love these "World" leaders groveling for Sean Penn's approval. What a bunch of small timers.
