2.14.12: The Panel on SPECIAL REPORT tonight ended with an important question....Why has Ron Paul not laid a glove on Mitt Romney?
My take: RP wants to be VP...or at least in a Romney Administration? Ron Paul's takedown of Santorum on his site (late on 2.13.12) is as severe a condemnation as one can write.
But Mr. Santorum is also prime for parody. His hiding behind his wife, blaming her for the contents in his own book is very humorous.
Rick's self righteous indignation is ripe for a comedy of errors, especially when we know his record is loaded with endless contradictions. Santorum actually called himself a "conservative Progressive" 1990. Trying not to take an issue on Abortion?
The memo must have officially gone out: the old orders of attacking Newt all the time have been superceded with new orders, to attack Santorum all the time.
I do look forward to the day when Old Fan's handlers let him know that it really is okay to stay on-topic occasionally, even if doing so doesn't advance the campaign's narrative.
And, really, a Romney zombie that was a little more self-aware probably wouldn't harp on endless contradictions and untenable assertions, all while supporting an otherwise unprincipled statist who continues to defend the individual mandate as "fundamentally conservative."
