Buddy Roemer, the former Louisiana governor who has utterly failed to make a dent in the GOP primary, has announced his withdrawal from the race. Roemer will reportedly seek the Reform Party nomination.
I guess I understand why he was kept out of the debates back when they started, since there were an already unmanageable number of candidates without him, but why was he still excluded even as the field shrunk so much in the last couple of months? His positions are all completely mainstream in the GOP--far more than Ron Paul, overall. He stupidly refused to raise money, so it's really his own fault that he couldn't get any traction, but I don't think we should be chortling that he had no spot at the table.
I think I speak for everyone when I say... There's still a Reform Party??
Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI like Buddy, nice guy, wish he had more of a say in the debates then Pizza Guy.
