Looks like a push poll. What poll starts with "is it good for the state to have 'an independent Republican' like Scott Brown representing us in Congress?" That's not a reasonable opening question if you want to get unbiased responses.
Reading the article, that "independent Republican" question was entirely separate from the head-to-head question. It's simply testing the partisan themes, the Dem version of the question also asked was if it was important to elect a Dem to prevent a GOP majority in the Senate.
Opinion Dynamics isn't known as a partisan pollster, so I highly doubt they spoiled the sample by asking the leading queston before the topline matchup.
the biggest curiousity on my mind...
is warren losing, this bad, because she is female?
to this day, I couldn't seperate martha coakley from elizabeth warren in a line up.
the populace that embraced ted kennedy was all too willing to turn a blind eye to his documented incidents with women, from a corpse to sexual assault victims. even jfk's rep has suffered little for his numerous indiscretions
if one accepted that type of behavior from a sitting pres/senator/rep, how far of a stretch is it to posit that a male would be polling better?
Great news. This seat is a must have if they have any shot at the Senate in the wake of Snowe's retirement and the NE seat all of the sudden being competitive.
Beating her could be one of the few rays of light on election night 2012.
Many on here soured on Scott because he's supposedly a squish. Guys, he's a Republican from Taxachussetts! I didn't expect high-octane Tea Partyism from him. He's lightyears better than the Maine girls, Specter pre-switch, etc. And I just plan like the guy, personally.
I'm rooting for him hard because Warren is the very distilled-down essence of condescending, sanctimonious, Ivy League leftism.
Agree with all that, completely. I think it's an encouraging sign that in the poll, Warren fails to get to 50%, even with college-educated respondents. Brown is imperfect to be sure, but if Warren wins that race, she'd be in the seat for the next 40-years, and she'd vote to the left of Bernie Sanders.

Reply to this commentLinkReport AbuseI find it hard to believe that pepple in Massachussetts are more rational than marlyland, WA, Oregon, CA. I only say VT as being more liberal than MA.
