Re: Britannica Farewell

Rick, I too am a Britannica-phile. For no particular reason, my favorite entry has always been the one on backscratchers. The mere fact that the Britannica was comprehensive enough to have an entry on backscratchers made me a fan for life, but I have always been especially fond of this sentence: “The hand was indifferently dexter or sinister, but the Chinese variety usually bears a right hand.” When I’m having one of my indifferently sinister days, thinking of that always cheers me up.
