Jonah, the liberal response to your column is only partially a function of your not being black. It’s also, perhaps chiefly, a function of your being conservative. To many liberals, conservative commentary on black America is perforce illegitimate, ill-informed, ignorant, and deleterious to the interests of blacks.

As the saying goes, I’ve been black all my life. As opposed to many of the elites who dismiss my viewpoints, I live in the inner-city (Cleveland). But because I’m conservative, my comments are often dismissed as “inauthentic” or otherwise illegitimate (and met with not an insignificant degree of hostility).   

Most of the hostility toward black conservatives comes from white liberals and the black political class. I can’t imagine why.
