Rick Santorum recently launched a “campaign within the campaign” to highlight Mitt Romney’s health-care program in Massachusetts. One part of the project includes web videos. Perhaps taking a cue from Ted Kennedy, whose campaign interviewed disgruntled SCM employees in 1994, the Santorum campaign sent a cameraman to Boston.
“We got a wide range of responses from people who know that Romneycare is not the answer,” says Alice Stewart, a Santorum adviser. “Who better to comment on the connection between Obamacare and Romneycare than the people of Massachusetts? These are real-life stories about the real negative impact of Governor Romney’s work.”
Here’s the campaign’s latest video:
Santorum has also created a “Repeal ObamaRomneycare” Facebook page.
UPDATE: The Romney campaign responds:
“Rick Santorum is getting more and more desperate as everyone else realizes he has no path to winning the nomination. It’s important that all Republicans keep their focus on President Obama because if we want to repeal Obamacare we need to defeat him first. Obamacare is bad policy and bad law and when Mitt Romney is president he will get rid of it.” — Amanda Henneberg, Romney campaign spokesman
