I noted on Twitter yesterday that after watching that Gawker video of Mitt Romney and Sean Hannity before a live interview talking about horses, all I really saw was transparency. The two of them were not very different off camera than on-camera. May we all come off as well when we don’t realize the cameras are running!
But “1 percent!” the critics cry. I don’t have horses either, folks, but I don’t decry or begrudge people who do have enough money to. And is it really breaking news that these two men have done well for themselves financially?
Not to interrupt a partisan media game with a human note, but I do think that it is worth pointing out that Ann Romney’s horseback riding has been instrumental in helping her thrive despite her multiple sclerosis. She traveled a lot less with her husband last time he ran for president because of it; I can only imagine what an adjustment this much more intense schedule must be.
