Hilary Rosen Is Wrong

by Maggie Gallagher

Hilary Rosen, after saying Ann Romney “hasn’t worked a day in her life,” fights back with this HuffPo column. She says she never insulted Ann Romney or the work of motherhood, she just meant staying home is a luxury only rich women like Ann have. On this she is wrong.

The median income of married families where the wife is not in the paid labor force in 2009 was $47,649. (See Table 699.)

Rosen should express her regrets not only to Ann Romney but to all those mothers working hard, making ends meet.

BTW, the Catholic League is also wrong to tweet on Hilary Rosen for being an adoptive mom — they are moms too.
