A mutual-love society sprung up this weekend between the vice president of the United States and actors Debra Messing and Eric McCormack, co-stars of Will & Grace (1998–2006). On Meet the Press, Biden said:
when things really begin to change, is when the social culture changes. I think Will and Grace probably did more to educate the American public than almost anything anybody’s ever done so far. And I think– people fear that which is different. Now they’re beginning to understand.
Will and Grace would go on to high-five VPOTUS on Twitter.
Vice President Biden is absolutely right about the power of culture. Culture has the power to propose, to make us immune, to lead us to surrender of one kind or another. The Left knows this. All too often I worry the Right does not. Or thinks it can’t compete.
We have to engage in the culture — especially if our message is counter-cultural.
