Mitt Reagan?

I, for one, would have loved the Santorum presidency. But the senator has now endorsed Mitt Romney. And I do not think we should be disappointed and desperate for the vice-presidential pick to save the day. Mitt Romney is a solid citizen and candidate. He might just be the man for the moment — and he might just have an easier time at being a transformational figure than even the politically sainted Ronald Reagan.

I was in Rome last week and did not mention it here, but that was the point of my syndicated column last week — which is here if you missed it.
