In today’s Impromptus, I cite Susan Sarandon, the actress and political philosopher. Remember what she said about Barack Obama after the 2008 election? “He is a community organizer like Jesus was, and now we’re a community and he can organize us.” I comment, “Yeah, well, no matter what, Susan Sarandon is still beautiful.”

One more thought: Didn’t Sarandon’s statement violate the First Amendment, somehow? Does it not portend theocracy? Get Kagan on the phone — Elena, not Donald, Robert, Frederick, or Kimberly — quick. (Back in Soviet times, there were two violinists, Kogan and Kagan. I used to mix them up.)
