Warren Admits She Told Harvard She Was Native American

by Daniel Foster

Elizabeth Warren now admits that she told the University of Pennyslvania and Harvard about her Native American “heritage,” but says she did so only after she was hired. From ABC News:

“I let people know about my Native American heritage in a national directory of law school personnel. At some point after I was hired by them, I also provided that information to the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard” Warren said in a statement. “My Native American heritage is part of who I am, I’m proud of it, and I have been open about it.

But as the Boston Globe points out, that’s not entirely accurate either. Documents from Harvard’s library indicate that the law school first touted Warren as a Native American in 1992, when she was a visiting professor. She didn’t return as a tenure-track professor until 1995.
