Latest Obama Bain Attacker Has Hired Bain Employees

Text

On Meet the Press yesterday, Atlanta mayor Kasim Reed aggressively defended the Obama campaign’s attacks on Mitt Romney’s work at Bain Capital, saying it wasn’t problematic.

“[W]e know about Bain Capital because of Senator Ted Kennedy,” Reed said. “Ted Kennedy was locked in a race 48-46 against Mitt Romney in 1994 on his first foray into politics. Ted Kennedy ended up beating the bark off of him, 58-42. And the centerpiece of his assault was Bain.”

But, as the Georgia Tip Sheet points out, Reed hasn’t always been so hostile to Bain: he previously brought on two former Bain executives to be city government employees.
