Mad Town Comes Up Short

Madison, Wis. — All week, Republicans were worried. If liberals and union-types in this college town turned out in record numbers, Governor Walker’s race would be a toss-up. Well, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Madison had a strong turnout, but it was far from enough to flip the outcome.

The Democratic base county of Dane also produced more votes than 2010, but not dramatically more. Barrett’s winning margin in Dane, 38 points, was also almost identical to 2010.
