Gay Parenting -- Is the Science Settled?

Text

In case you missed my piece from yesterday, I took a look at a new Social Science Journal study that examines the outcomes for children raised by same-sex couples and compares them with those for children raised by their biological parents. In recent years, the topic has been closed down by a dogmatic insistence that the science is “settled,” and that there is “no difference” in outcomes — or even that children benefit from being raised by a gay couple. Mark Regnerus’s study certainly contradicts that notion, although I have some serious reservations about what it actually demonstrates. My piece is here.
