New York Times to German Voters: ‘Drop Dead’
From today’s New York Times editorial on the euro-zone’s woes:
Leaders must also accelerate the process of European institutional integration, including banking and fiscal union.
If voters in Germany object to having their pockets picked on the scale that this would entail?
Too bad: “Leaders” must be allowed to go ahead and pick those pockets anyway.
And to think that some people like to believe that one of the purposes of the EU has been to ensure that democracy remains firmly rooted in German soil.
It seems that The New York Times believes that the EU (or at least its currency union) should now be redesigned to do just the opposite. Disgusting.
