White House Misinformation

by Kathryn Jean Lopez

The White House website still claims that the Catholic Health Association supports its faux HHS mandate accommodation, ten days after CHA declared the administration’s supposed compromise “unduly cumbersome.” And, as Ed Morrissey points out, it also gives a false impression about Catholic Charities, which never endorsed it. These are Catholic Charities more recent words to the administration, in fact:

CCUSA implores the issuing agencies to expand the definition of religious employer so that CCUSA and its member agencies, who unquestionably are religious organizationsand who provide needed services to millions of people every day without regard tothe recipients’ religion, are exempt. Anything short of this is a violation of ourreligious liberties.

Kids, I would not use the White House website as your source, if you want to be accurate.
