Former Republican Charlie Crist will speak at the DNC in Charlotte:
An official withe President Barack Obama’s campaign said Sunday that Crist will speak at next week’s convention in Charlotte, N.C., but the day hasn’t been worked out.
The official wasn’t authorized to speak and requested anonymity.
Crist announced Sunday that he is endorsing Obama, and Republicans called the decision political opportunities and pointed out Crist has previously criticized the president on issues such as his health care overhaul.
NBC’s Chuck Todd, who doesn’t have cable in his hotel room, says that the Crist-Obama amity isn’t a major national story, but on the local stations, it’s big news.
