Todd Akin announced just now that he will stay in the senate race. Acknowledging that many have asked him whether he intended to quit, Akin said,  “I don’t believe that that is really my decision.”

“The decision,” he continued, “was made the by the voters of the state of  Missouri and I have one purpose going into November, and that’s replacing Claire McCaskill.”

Today is the last day that Akin can legally end his race as the GOP senate candidate.
