Warming up for tonight’s debate, Chris Matthews batted around the issue of contraception with Gloria Steinem and Obama deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter. This made for a balanced conversation.
Matthews expressed consternation as to why the Republicans have made birth control a political issue. I wasn’t aware they had, but Matthews went on to rail against a “birth control nazi” who, in the GOP’s ideal world, would dictate who receives birth control and who doesn’t. Um, what?
Maybe Matthews should focus his attention on the, you know, actual board of bureaucrats who may decide which sorts of health care procedures are reasonable, and which aren’t.
